According to one of Sony Insider’s “most trusted sources,” the 5-inch PRS-350 and 6-inch PRS-650 devices will be rolled out “soon.” Both will host touchscreens, have potential sub-10mm widths, 2GB of storage space, a new home interface and some performance improvements like faster page turns.

According to sources, the Sony PRS-350 and PRS-650 will both feature touchscreens, will both be thinner and lighter than the current models, and will likely have improved contrast and faster page turns. Hopefully Sony will opt for the new Pearl displays with 50% improved contrast like the new Kindle 3 and Kindle DX; they would be stupid not to.

Very little reliable information and rumor is we have to offer these days, but August is one of those months dense as to bore. It is also true that we will tell you it sounds pretty good, is that according to Sony Insider informers, are approaching a new pair of readers who will join the Reader family.

The PRS-350 PRS-650 will integrate E Ink screens, and offer both greater autonomy as a chassis thinner than the current PRS-600 PRS-300. In figures, each measured less than 10 mm thick, with panels 5 and 6 inches respectively, 2 GB of internal storage (at least in the case of 650) and perhaps the possibility of 3G and WiFi antennas found in the model expensive.

The software also have been updated, so that in addition to a redesigned interface, the function for taking notes in the PRS-600 also would be present in the modest PRS-350. That itself loose now and do not ask us release date, which is enough to know all that I have told.
