ATLANTA (AP) – Apple IPAD is more friendly to the prying eyes of an airport guard a conventional laptop.

The Safety Administration (TSA, for its acronym in English) reported that in general is not necessary to remove the bag IPAD. This is because it is relatively small and the people who load the device does not usually carry accessories such as external readers are confusing images when the computer bags are subject to revision.

However, the guards can still ask travelers who take out the IPAD if they can not get a clear picture of the device in X-ray machines

Apple Inc. distributed more than 300,000 iPads on Saturday, the first day of sales of the device.

The IPAD is not a personal computer but allows users to perform several key functions on a computer can do, like sending emails, watch movies and surf the internet.

The models sold today are connected to wireless internet and cost from $ 499. A second wave of buyers may emerge when Apple starts selling versions that can access a connection through cellular networks, although those models will cost from $ 629.

Several companies tried before selling computers from a single block before, but none captured the attention of consumers.

A strong marketing and IPAD surprise factor generated enormous interest, which means that security guards will be obliged to see more of these devices at airports.

The TSA, which is responsible for security at the airports, is in the process of informing its staff on how to figure the IPAD in review procedures, said agency spokesman Greg Soule.

Laptops generally have to be removed from their bags and placed in a separate conveyor belt, but lately you can find some bags designed particularly to facilitate these security procedures.
